Then adjust the trigger value until it pulls it in to the correct timing. I am not sure if this would cause problems or not as far as changing the curve as the RPM increases, but I don't think it would.Ĭongrats on your biological imperative. When its idling, set the timing to a fixed 10 degrees in the spark options of t the variable timing light to 20 degrees (double due to wasted spark ) and then see if the TDC marks line up.they will probably be at least a few degrees out. I have '1' in the trim angle as it was pretty much correct. Then I used a strobe light to check the timing was correct compared to the reading on tunerstudio, then adjusted the 'Trim' until it matched.

The other thing I can think of that would cause a sizable offset like that would be that the trigger is set to "going low" when it should be set to "going high" or vice versa in the software. In 'Fixed angle' I have -10, so that it will work from the spark table. I have a Megasquirt 1 version 2 and LM-1 Wideband 02 sensor for engine control. 63/.60 turbos with internal wastegates set to their stock levels, DSM BOV, and timing set at 8deg without the shunt. If that is the case it won't cause any problems because the reluctor and rotor are still locked together. My setup: freshly rebuilt 302, stock, with FelPro 93333-PT1 headgaskets with ARP head bolts, 42 lb injectors, FPR set at 35 PSI without vacuum, twin T3.

I think your trigger offset might be so high because when you locked the distributor it moved the reluctor in relation to the drive gear. Will a vacuum leak cause the timing to advanced far enough to cause this idle issue Are there any setting I have over looked in Megatune is the timing going to be different due to the rubbish fuel we have down here Any help would stop any more grey hairs. It sounds like you have everything figured out pretty well, but if you need to bounce anything off someone.

I am using the vr pickup in the duraspark ii distributor and controling the neg terminal of the coil. I am running a duraspark to signal the MSII, and then I have an MSD to actually trigger the coil. I just got my '67 mustang 200ci 6 CYL running on the megasquirt (just ignition for now), but I would really like to see what others are using for the megatune basic ignition settings with a duraspark ii distributor. I haven't had time to keep up with the forum lately.
